Vote for DA Candidate, Wendy Morgan, for Ward 36
Ward Candidate Profile
Name: Wendy Morgan
Ward: Ward 36, Ekurhuleni
My name is Wendy Morgan, and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 36 Candidate in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).
I am standing in the 2021 Local Government Elections because the City of Ekurhuleni cannot survive another five years of lack of the service delivery. We need to go back to basics and deliver services to the residents so that Ekurhuleni can become the State-of-the-Art-City that it should be. A City with no corruption and employees who are fit for purpose.
Electricity and Water outages and erratic refuse collection remain the biggest concerns in Ward 36, as they affect residents daily. Streetlight repairs need to become a priority as this is contributing to the increase in crime. Illegally occupied buildings and non-adherence to City Planning By-laws is an issue that I will be driving. The non-functioning Parks Department, grass cutting and tree cutting maintenance is another issue that I will be focussing on.
My future vision for the ward is to continue to get electricity substations maintained, upgraded, and secured — to get rid of illegal connections that are causing strain on the grid. The Hilltop Water Reservoir Pump Station needs a functioning generator onsite to ensure that the residents have access to water during power failures and loadshedding.
I am incredibly involved in the community activities in my ward. I also have a Facebook Page and a WhatsApp Community group to communicate with the community daily and stay abreast on all pertinent issues.
I have my community’s interests at heart and will continue to fight for what is needed to make the ward a better place to live in. I have lived in the area since I was seven years old and I believe that residents of Ward 36 deserve the best.
