Name: Sonia Moremoholo

My name is Sonia Moremoholo, and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 44 Candidate in Ekurhuleni.

I fully subscribe to the DA’s policies and principles of being One Nation with One future built on Freedom, Fairness, Opportunity, and Diversity. I am an advocate of DA’s vision of an open opportunity society for all, and it is for this reason that I am standing as a Ward Councillor.

Ward 44 has an array of challenges, and these are the issues I will be concentrating on and driving:

• Drug and Substance Abuse
• Huge unemployment among young adults and the youth
• Crime & Violence
• Poverty
• Poor service delivery
• Access to healthcare
• Local economic development

As a healthcare professional and an At-Risk youth mentor whose passion is in health and wellness, my top priority will be to address drug and substance abuse. I believe that it is important to claim back the lives and sanity of our youth from the trenches of drug addiction. They need to be sober, healthy, mentally alert and in good health to take ownership of their lives so they can be productive in society.

My vision for Ward 44 to see the community living in a safe and healthy environment, without any fear or danger. I also believe that all residents that should receive the best possible services and no community should be neglected.

I am approachable, a team player, creative and I am a solution-driven individual. I am open, honest, and transparent and I will serve the residents authentically, without hidden or personal agendas. I believe that these qualities will aid me in serving the community of Ward 44.
