Name: Selby Thekiso

Ward: Ward 89, Ekurhuleni

My name is Selby Thekiso and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 89 Candidate in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).

I am standing as a Ward Councillor to ensure that there is adequate service delivery for all and that residents can live in a corruption free society.

The major issues affecting the Ward include increasing crime, a lack of waste removal, a number of potholes, intermittent electricity and incorrect assessment rates.

My vision for the Ward is to help create a community where residents can thrive through an increase in economic opportunities that are unhindered by corruption. In addition, there needs to be regular and quality services delivered to the people.

I regularly hold, and chair, meetings on a regular basis to deal with various issues such as electricity, waste removal and crime related issues

I am a trained educator with honours degree in Leadership and Management and that has greatly assisted me in dealing with people. My public speaking is impressive where I am able to effectively articulate resident’s problems to the Metro, and rectify them accordingly.
