Name: Fana Nkosi

Ward: Ward 8, Ekurhuleni

My name is Fanyana Nkosi, and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 8 Candidate in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).

I am standing as a Ward Councillor because I believe in working for a society that is espouses fairness, freedom, diversity and opportunity for all.

The biggest issues facing the Ward include illegal dumping, lack of grass cutting, dysfunctional streetlights, high levels of crime and a lack of maintenance for parks and recreational facilities.

My vision is to have a clean and well-functioning ward with increased economic development that provides employment opportunities for all residents.

I have started a NPO for youth development and have held leadership positions from primary through to university and in my community organizations. I am the current Regional Finance Chairperson for Gauteng and a Shadow MMC for Finance for the DA in Ekurhuleni. I have a Degree in Bcom Accounting from the University of Pretoria, a certificate in Municipal Governance from Wits University and several certificates in different fields and have over 12-years Management. In addition, I have financial accounting experience and have completed a Course in Cost Modeling in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in 2008. These qualifications afford me a thorough understanding of local government and a commitment to community upliftment.
