The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni believes now is the time for the Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) to act on the process of terminating long-term contracts for Security Services.

We find it appalling that the EHC is yet to act on this instruction. However, it can be assumed that keeping these security contracts in place will protect the pockets of the politically connected ANC cadres.

As the DA, we believe it is time for change. It is time for empowerment. It is disheartening to see female-owned businesses being overlooked by the EHC.

We claim to be serious about women empowerment, yet we fail to include them in the economic activities of the City. There is opportunity to bring about change, the ANC and its coalition partners lack the political will and keep the politically connected.
